Deadline for (Con)Temporary Art Chicago Guide March 10

Proximity Magazine invites you to participate in the (Con)Temporary Art Chicago Guide. The Guide showcases the best cultural offerings in Chicago during the Spring season - late April to early May 2009. We are  creating a map and publication - including directories, articles, and interviews - about what’s happening at places both prominent and secret in our city, this season The Guide showcases Chicago as a hub for contemporary art, to reflect on the vitality and vulnerability of the creations in it, and to celebrate it as a whole - day and night, inside and out, old and new. It will be distributed to the international and local visitors to the art fairs and festivals  happening in late April early May. We’ll feature art and events at our Museums , Institutes,  Art Fairs and Festivals, as well as temporary art projects, secret spots, and independent contemporary art spaces. Planned sections include: an annotated directory of halls, galleries, and spaces; gallery routes; street strategies; unguided tours; talks and presentations; openings and parties; and some sweet, sweet surprises. Articles and interviews by/with Albert Stabler, Paul Klein, Paul Morris, Daniel Gunn and others will survey contemporary art practice in Chicago The publication will be bundled with Proximity Magazine.
