July 25th - October 18th, 2009 Arranged in constellations, or groupings, of works drawn from the MCA Collection, this exhibition spans generations, subjects, and techniques to comment on the artists' diverse approaches to painting and its history. United by a common medium, these works emphasize the vast potential of brush, paint, and canvas to produce complex reflections on life and art. Rather than redefining what can be considered painting, Constellations explores how the medium continues to endure as a vibrant, vital, and relevant art form.
