No Olympics? Where is all the money going?

While all the real estate agents, Daley cronies and various other business/politician types are all mourning the loss of the Olympic bid Roger Ebert has written the most sensible and poignant article I've read in months. I cannot thank him enough for writing this. Anyone on that Olympic committee could see, as most of us do, that Chicago may be wonderful but it is full of problems and in recent years they have only worsened. The Olympics are great for a city's spirit but in the end the economic impact is severe, further serving the already existing Class issues that this city possesses. In no way should we think that the Olympics are good for anyone's pocketbook except the rich and the powerful. Read Mr. Ebert's article HERE. I agree whole-heartedly that we should find the money, effort and time to fix our city up...with or without the olympics. Darrion Alberts' death has made this point inarguable.
