A Colorful and intriguing poster exhibition by very talented and accomplished students and faculty from The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and Katowice, Poland. Polish poster art has long enjoyed world-wide prestige for its exceptional originality. This show will be among those featured in the Chicago Artropolis program. Honorary patronage: Richard M. Daley, Mayor of Chicago Zygmunt Matynia, Consul General of the Republic of Poland, Chicago Curated by Piotr Kunce and Monika Nowak Performance by acclaimed jazz singer Agnieszka Iwańska Appearance by exhibition artists, as well as Professor Piotr Kunce and Katarzyna Bojanowska An exhibition catalogue will be available Flavors from Szałas Restaurant and Sobieski Vodka Admission: $5.00 For the first time in the United States and in conjunction with ARTROPOLIS-Art Chicago 2010, a colorful and intriguing poster exhibition with 76 works, dated from 2002 to 2010, will be exhibited by 52 talented and accomplished young artists – students, graduates and their professors from three distinguished Academies of Fine Arts in Poland. It will be possible to see a poster by Maria Mileńko, a student from The Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. She was chosen as the winner of the Europe Day 2010 Poster Competition with over 400,000 votes - a victory from among 2,000 contestants from the European Union. The posters will be seen in all 27 of its member nations and published in 23 languages. Among the exhibition participants are artists from other countries who are studying in Kraków, Poland: Mira Jordanova from Bulgaria, Nina Pahler, Lidia Sperber and Lennart Langanki from Germany, Gizem Acarla from Turkey and Natalia Olbińska from the USA, the daughter of Rafał Olbiński, a renowned master of Polish poster art. The poster art of Poland has long enjoyed world-wide prestige for its exceptional originality. The Post No Bills: Contemporary Polish Posters exhibition has been prepared in collaboration with Professor Piotr Kunce, who, for nearly 30 years, has been directing the Poster Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
